Workshop à arles avec Jean-Christophe Béchet

cet été, j’ai passé 5 jours à arles pour participer à ce workshop.
pourquoi ?
car fois il faut avoir du recul sur sa propre façon de faire des photos
faire un break, écouter d’autres photographes, se remettre en cause,
accepter la critique sur son propre travail et aussi voir d’autres images.
je ne peut que vous recommander ce workshop, regardez ici: photo workshop arles; surtout avec Jean-Christophe, un photographe engagé dans une démarche « de a-z » :
de l’élaboration d’un projet, à la prise des images, à l’editing, au choix et à la disposition des images pour une exposition puis au titre et au texte…
…..sans oublier de passer par l’impression, le choix du papier et éventuellement la taille et la forme d’un livre sur le sujet.
pendant le workshop nous avons également visité différentes expositions des rencontres d’arles, avec une critique constructive de la part de Jean-Christophe sur l’accrochage, le choix du papier et les sujets traités.
une matinée était consacrée à une séance photo de “nu” et “portrait” dans une usine désaffecté dans le style “urbex”
une soirée projection-rencontre à eu lieu également avec les maitres des stages sur leur travail personnel
le dernier soir c’était à nous (stagiaires) d’exposer notre travail dans le cour fanton, le tout dans une ambiance très sympa et copieusement arrosée avec du vin rosé.
j’ai passé une semaine très enrichissante, une vrai rencontre « photo », que je vous recommande vivement !

mon sujet était « le très bon » (c’est un quartier à l’entrée d’arles), qui n’a pas grand-chose de « très bon », des rues vides, des hlm, quelques commerces et le tout sous la chaleur écrasante d’arles en été :

une balade nocturne a complété le stage:
deux images lors de la séance “portraits”:
toutes les images ont été réalisé avec le leica q2; un seul objective: le 28mm f:1/1.7 (d’autres images avec le leica q2 ici et ici )
pour finir: je vous recommande vivement de faire un stage avec un “photographe pro”; chaque photographe a ses propres réglages, ses “tic”, ses préférences, il ne s’agit pas de les copier, simplement d’en prendre connaissance, puis de juger si éventuellement notre façon de prendre des images est vraiment optimale.
une remise en cause, que j’en suis sûr, n’est pas acceptable pour tous et souvent difficile.

I spent this summer 5 days in Arles to participate in this workshop.
Why ?
sometimes you have to step back to your own way of doing photos
take a break, listen to other photographers, question yourself,
accept criticism from others about his own work and also see other images.
I can only recommend this workshop, look here: photo workshop arles; especially with jean-christophe, a photographer engaged in an "a-z" approach:
from the elaboration of a project, the taking of the images, the editing, the choice, the arrangement of the images for an exhibition then a title and a text,
Not forgetting to go through the printing, the choice of paper and possibly the size and shape of a book on the subject.
During the workshop we also visited different exhibitions of arles meetings, with a constructive criticism from jean-christophe on the hanging, the choice of paper and the topics treated.
A morning was devoted to a photo shoot of "nude" and "portrait" in an urbex place (very nice)
A projection-meeting evening was also held with the masters of the courses on their personal work
The last night it was up to us (trainees) to exhibit our work in the "cours fanton", all in a very nice atmosphere and copiously sprinkled with rosé wine.
I spent a very rewarding week, a real "photo" meeting, which I highly recommend!

My subject state "the very good" (it is a neighborhood at the entrance of arles, which does not have much of "very good", empty streets, hlm, some shops and all in the heat overwhelming arles in summer:

all images were made with leica q2; a single objective: the 28mm f: 1 / 1.7
to finish: I strongly recommend you to do an internship with a "professional photographer"; each photographer has his own settings, his "tic", his preferences, it is not a question of copying them, simply to take knowledge of them, then to judge if possibly the way of taking pictures is really optimal.
a challenge, which I am sure, is not acceptable to all.
